The Natural Journey Part II

Hey Dolls,

After overwhelming response from last week, this week I will be letting you in on a few of my own personal beauty secrets and recipes that you can do for yourself right at home.

Firstly, the co-wash secret. If you are wanting to try co-wash you can do one two things; try a store brand i.e. Pantene Pro-V Relaxed and Natural Co-Wash, As I Am, or Wen for example. If you really want to get down to the nitty gritty you can use basic vinegar and baking soda; Baking soda and a little water being the shampoo and vinegar as your conditioner, which helps seal your ends.

Secondly, onto our favorite part… SKINCARE!!

Last week I addressed apple cider vinegar as a natural pore cleanser, toner, and acne fighter. It can be used by mixing with your present face wash, as an additive or you can use it as a spot treatment.

honey

Recipe 1- Over night spot treatment:

1/4 teaspoon baking soda

1/2 teaspoon apple cider vinegar

1/2 teaspoon witch hazel soak

3   drops of tea-tree oil

Soak in gauze and apply and leave on the face over-night

apple cidar

Recipe 2- Soothing face mask (Best to use 1-2 times a week to keep pores healthy or after a breakout to soothe irritated skin):

1/2 cucumber peeled

1/2 teaspoon of honey

1/4 cup of milk

Mix and mush by hand do not blend +/- milk until a thick paste is created. Smear all over face and place a warm paper towel or gauze all over your face to secure. When mask is done it will be warm and slide off. Use cotton ball in apple cider vinegar to remove residue and moisturize as usual.

Recipe 3- Homemade lip scrub

1    table spoon of sugar

1/2  table spoon of honey

3    drops of olive oil

2    pressed mint leaves

Scrub lips thoroughly for 2-4 minutes depending on dryness. Remove with a     warm cloth and moisturize with a few drops of olive oil.

Until Next week, Chao
