Resetting your lifestyle

Losing weight is difficult especially if you haven’t dedicated your life to a healthier one. I have failed a million diets, but ever since I realized that it’s about choosing better choices and allowing myself to remember Hell, I’m human! I’ve been amazing.

We all have to realize again, Hell, I’m human! And things get easier. Be aware of your weaknesses and keep them away from yourself until the moments when you need them. Sound crazy right? Yes, I know, but hell, I’m human! Protein, veggies, and complex carbohydrates (whole grains, fruits, legumes, and daily low fat milks and yogurt) are NEEDED for a healthier lifestyle. However, sometimes we need a delectable treat right? Snickers, Cookie ‘n’ Crème ice cream, or tasty hot Cheetos always cure a broken heart right? Well, once you eff your health groove, there’s always a way to reset your lifestyle. Here are 10 of my methods to resetting your lifestyle.

Step 1: COMMIT. In order to get right, you HAVE to COMMIT to all the hard work it will take.

Step 2: Cut out simple carbohydrates for one month. Resetting your lifestyle means sacrificing some things; those bad habits that cause weight gain. Cut out fructose! Cut out snacks, sugars, and sodas. Cut out alcohol as well. I know we love to turn up, but that’s what keeps our weight up.

Step 3: Drink a minimum of 8 glasses of water. I know you hate water, but nonetheless, you need it plus it helps flush out everything.

Step 4: Drink responsibility. “Milks” such as rice, almond can be ingested. Herbal teas are delish, lemon water, and unsweetened juices.

Step 5: Grains and starches are allowed! Be careful of empty calories like white rice and pasta opt for quinoa, brown rice, rice crackers, and whole wheat bread.

Step 6: Veggie Tales! Mama was right, eat your veggies. Broccoli, onions, garlic, kale, collard greens and sea veggies like kelp are great veggies. Avoid corn!

Step 7: Nuts 4 you. Need an afternoon snack? Grab almonds, cashews, walnuts, sunflower, pumpkin, and sesame seeds are delicious.

Step 8: Oils. You must be careful with your oils. Use extra virgin olive oil, hemp oil, almond, or coconut oils to cook food.

Step 9: Sweeteners and condiments. Be careful with these two culprits! Use brown rice syrup, stevia, raw honey for your sweetener. Condiments are tricky, but use miso, black olives, lemons and limes, sea salt and mustard; ketchup tends to be very sweet.

Step 10: Add a kick-ass work in! I love cardio! Find a great dance or kick box class. Join a gym and weight lift. Swim. Jump rope. Do whatever you need to do.

It’s simple—after a major snack out you may just need a reset! Here are my 10 steps to get you back on track. I support your movement.
