Fancy: On the Run Wardrobe
The reign of Queen Bey is far from over! The Beyhive manages to thrive despite all of the shade thrown towards one of the greatest entertainers we’ve ever seen. This past summer the “On The Run” tour grossed over $100 million according to Billboard.com. The attraction of two artists, Beyonce’ and Jay-Z, bring a fun collaboration that will be talked about for years to come. The ROC Dynasty has officially taken over. I must admit I watched the HBO concert well over 3 times. It was so full of life, passion, and an overwhelming energy. I felt like I was there.
Fashion is a major key component of this tour. Any designer that had the opportunity to show their work for this show must be honored. Bey-lieve me,the best designers were chosen. Beyoncé wore Versace, Alexander Wang, Diesel, and Givenchy. Jay-Z wore Givenchy, Rodarte, & BLK DNM. Top designers made the vision for this project blazing! Each fit represented the songs blasting into the crowd while visual images flashed across the screen. The production was detailed and every aspect done with all the perks of a glamorous lifestyle.
My favorite outfit that Bey rocked was the Alexander Wang hoodie. I plan on looking for a replica! The bomber jacket is made of exotic snakeskin and aero-foam mesh strip by Strip. Underneath the bomber, Bey wore a custom made leather embroidery body suit which gave the illusion of sheer cut outs (www.beyonce.com). It was so cool! Body suits are really neat and give your body a smooth appearance. Dancers wear body suits for comfort and to provide movement. That is why Bey moves so freely.
Jay-Z wore some really great fits too. When he sported the 99 Rodarte jersey shirt, black jeans, black boots, and a black and white bandana; it was fit just for him. His swag just gets better with time and eliminating the factor of his age. Jay definitely looks great in all black. My favorite look on him was the Givenchy blazer, striped shirt and classic black scully. Jay kept it smooth and real lowkey. He didn’t need to do much but stay simple. His wife brought the flavor! A definite upgrade. They are a movement; a force to be reckoned with. Their style, taste, and music has become an unstoppable fusion. I am certain that we are only touching the surface …
